Description

The Hit Parade is a compilation of the twelve 7” singles [both A and B-sides] released by The Wedding Present in 1992. It originally went on to be compiled in two albums… ‘Hit Parade 1’ in 1992 and ‘Hit Parade 2’ in 1993.

In 1992, The Wedding Present equaled Elvis Presley’s record tally of 12 UK Top 30 singles chart entries in a year. Perhaps more remarkably, when played in sequence, these 12 original compositions plus their quixotic cover version flip-sides, stand as a cogent artistic statement, featuring some of the band’s definitive performances.

This 3CD + DVD Expanded Edition includes the original singles [remastered], alternate versions and other tracks from the period, recordings for BBC Radio 1’s John Peel and Mark Goodier programs, sessions for the BBC’s World Service and Radio Leeds and concert recordings plus promotional videos, TV appearances and a specially filmed acoustic song and interview with David Gedge discussing the album.

All the content is housed in a hardback book which includes lyrics, photos, memorabilia scans and extended notes.
